Canvases stand on easels outside a quiet building in Nairobi, catching the afternoon light.
On one canvas, bold white lines slice the surface into triangles and narrow strips, and inside each shape a storm of green, yellow and blue threads twists and loops over itself, with small red dots scattered through the tangle like drops of paint that fell and stayed.
