Every year, roughly a million young Kenyans enter the labour market, while the formal economy absorbs only a fraction of them. That gap is not a statistic to me; it is the defining question facing our ICT and innovation sector as a whole.

As the Nation continues to delve deeper into matters of ICT and the Digital Economy, I am convinced that the most consequential infrastructure this country can build for its next generation is not fibre, data centres or office parks alone, though we need those too, but skill, and an economy that knows how to recognise and reward it.
