Chief Executive Neil Ribeiro said companies can send e-vouchers to employees residing or intending to travel to Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Naivasha that are redeemable in 200 outlets.
M-Tuza e-vouchers give employees choices from dining in restaurants, buying wine, clothes, shoes, paying for gym and spa sessions as well as using the e-vouchers to cater for services at hair salons and barber shops.
Retail gifts e-voucher firm Apptivate Africa has expanded its offering to six major towns to meet corporate demand for personalised end-year rewards to employees.
“You can also use your M-Tuza e-voucher to buy home decor, kitchenware, holidays and travel. M-Tuza e-vouchers start at Sh100 to Sh100,000,” said the CEO.
Mr Ribeiro said e-vouchers were more secure than paper vouchers which could be lost or accidentally damaged.
“Employees prefer gifts they choose as this gives them such freedom that will go a long way in motivating them in the coming year,” said Mr Ribeiro.
An End of Year Employee Rewards Survey by Kenya’s human resource consultancy Corporate Staffing found that paper-based gift vouchers were becoming unpopular due to limited choices that require employees to redeem them at select outlets.
“Employers should give employees a chance to select the gift of their choice as they are different and vary in taste and preferences.
A ‘one-size fits all’ kind of reward and recognition program will not work,” the report recommended.
Apptivate Africa also runs an e-lunch voucher system facilitated by companies which deduct the expense and due taxes at Sh4,000 per employee.
