Betty Kioko has spent weeks building her case against a US company that looks to prolong daylight by four hours.

“The company [Reflect Orbital] wants to put a giant mirror in space. The mirror would bounce sunlight back down to Earth and stretch daylight by up to four extra hours in some places,” says the Kenyan lawyer in her 30s, who lives in Germany. “Who needs four extra hours?”
