The High Court has ruled that QuickMart Limited cannot fully recover the Sh94.9 million lost by a contracted security firm, Wells Fargo Limited, during transit from one of its supermarket outlets to a bank, exposing risks in the cash logistics chain.

The court found that Wells Fargo’s liability was contractually capped at Sh80 million, leaving the retailer to absorb the balance for failing to secure additional insurance cover for the excess risk.
