A court has directed West Kenya Sugar Company to pay a farmer Sh58,334 that was illegally deducted from the proceeds of sugarcane he delivered to the miller.

Milimani Resident Magistrate D.S. Aswani said deductions made on Elvis Muruli’s proceeds were fictitious as the miller could not prove that it ploughed, farrowed, and supplied sugarcane seedlings to his two other farms.
